Beautiful Textures Tangle Taming Leave-In Conditioner

Hey hey!
Hellooooo April!!!!
It's a new month guys and I hope you guys been doing okay, wishing you all a blissful month ahead...feel like
it's been a while so this might be a not-so quick one.

The twists finally came off the previous week and boy did I almost weep, and for good reason too. First reason being that I'm gonna miss just running out the door to work in the morning without having to style my hair...there goes those sacred extra sleeping minutes I could kill for. The second reason is the more painful-this baby I've been growing for the past 1year 8months 3weeks 6days 10hours and counting had a major shedding episode. It was really heartbreaking seeing my hair break repeatedly because of that part at the very beginning of the twist that was wound roundabout like in the threading technique. It even made it a whole lot longer to take down the twists and a lot of my hair came off with that part.

What was I thinking when I decided to do the twists that way? Oh I remember: I felt they always looked lovelier that way and I had always wanted to try out that look, now the joke's on me... I'm pretty sure I lost more than two months worth of growth but I will get past it eventually and get even more length moving forward. I'm sure every natural has one of these episodes down the line so this is certainly not going to get me sidetracked. With the fro back and ignoring all the drama surrounding it, I decided to write this review since I had honestly been putting it off for way too long.

So I came by this 'Beautiful Textures Tangle Taming Leave-In Conditioner' through a friend who stumbled on it completely by accident in one of our go-to stores. We had heard about the brand and when she saw it she got me a bottle of my own (yeah that girl's a rockstar). This leave-in conditioner comes in a 355ml (12 fl oz) bottle and the ingredients are listed below:

Aqua, Olea Europaea Fruit Oil/Olive Oil, Argania Spinosa Nut Oil/Argan Oil, Glycine Soja Oil/Soybean Oil, Cocos Nucifera Oil/Coconut Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii Fruit/Shea Butter, Mangifera Indica Seed Butter/Mango Butter, Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Extract/Rosemary Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract/Aloe Vera, Dimethicone, Panax Ginseng Root Extract/ Ginseng Extract, Polyquaternium 37, Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Glycerin, DMDM Hydantoin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth 20, Polysorbate 20, Propylene Glycol, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Phenyl Trimethicone, CI 15985/Yellow 6, Parfum/Fragrance, Benzyl Benzoate, Benzyl Salicylate, Coumarin, d-Limonene, Hexyl Cinnamal, Lyral, Methyl Ionone Gamma.

I love that it had olive and argan oils as the second and third ingredients on the list which means compared to the other ingredients they would have a higher concentration and that is a good thing. Also it has glycerine and aloe which means extra moisture though I'm not too fond of the silicones in there unlike before when my hair seemed to love them.Notwithstanding,I like the ingredients considerably and the end product would agree with people with dry hair because most of the ingredients cater to infusing moisture into our hair.

I think the first thing you will notice about this leave-in is the fragrance which I'm honestly not sure how I feel about. It has this fruity thing going on which is okay sometimes but other days I'm not such a big fan. However it does have great slip, glides into the hair pretty easily though it can get really sticky sometimes so moderation is key.I also found that a little really does go a long way so most times when I'm styling my hair after washing or cowashing I usually use a dime-size portion on each of the four sections of my hair before applying any stylers. But if I'm just refreshing my curls during the week,I use a dime-size portion on my entire head of hair after spritzing my hair with water or whatever mixture I concoct.

It's a somewhat light leave-in though this can be disputed because of the fact that it is sticky and all. This product leaves my hair pretty soft and manageable but I try not to use it too often mostly because of buildup.I know I've mentioned before that my hair is partial to silicones but with this leave-in it doesn't seem that way.Maybe it's because I used it generously at first before I opted to reduce to a dime-size portion but in the beginning I almost had to cleanse my scalp more than once a week because the buildup was astounding and those white flake-y things near drove me crazy.I found this really annoying seeing as my friend had nothing but good things to say about her ongoing affair with the same product and this just goes to show that hair care products can sometimes be hair-specific.

I’m also not sure this product pairs well with stylers especially Eco styler gel. With Eco styler it had this annoying crunch and then anytime I put my hands in my hair some particles would fall out and that’s so not pretty and a tad embarrassing if you are amongst people at the time.

Would I be purchasing this again?
Probably.I would just have to stick to moderation since the results are pretty okay with that but I'm  honestly not too sure just yet. I do know however that I might be trying it somewhere down the line just to see if my hair reacts differently and if I have an entirely different story to tell cos my hair is funny that way. Also this product is pretty affordable depending on where you purchase it, ranges from about 1500naira to 2300naira in different stores so it could easily become a staple for most people.

I feel like I made this way too long and I apologize so I will be off now.
Till the next one guys,
Warm hugs.
