Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.

Here’s hoping we had a great weekend, I’m pretty expectant it’s going to be a good week and as promised I’m here with a product review for you beauties.

So during one of my recent visits to the store, I stumbled upon this baby - the ORS Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner. I don’t think I was even there to buy anything hair related but I’ll be the first to confess that when it comes to impulsive buying trust me you’ve got nothing on me.

When I first saw it, I wasn’t too keen on it since I’m not really a big fan of ORS anything mostly because I don’t really buy the idea of brands known for making products for relaxed hair switching over to making some products that cater to natural hair needs. It just feels wrong to me and honestly makes me uncomfortable. But being naturally curious I picked up the bottle and flipped it over to read the ingredients on the back of the bottle and sincerely it was impressive for a not-so-natural hair brand. The ingredients were:

Water , Glycine Soja Oil (Soybean) , Glycerin , Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil , Hydrolyzed Collagen, Quaternium-80 , Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil , Citral , d-Limonene , Linalool , Polyquaternium-37 , Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate /Dicaprate , PPG-1 Trideceth-6 , Panthenol , Silk Amino Acids , PEG-9 Dimethicone , Anthemis Nobilis (Chamomile) Extract , Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Extract , Urtica Dioica (Nettle) Extract , Rosmarinus Officinalis  (Rosemary) Extract , Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice , Achillea Millefolium (Yarrow) Extract , Actinidia Chinensis (Kiwi) Fruit Juice , Dimethicone , Hydrolyzed Glycosaminoglycans , EDTA , Triethanolamine , DMDM Hydantoin , Methylchloroisothiazolinone , Methylisothiazolinone , CI 15985 (Yellow #6) , CI 19140 (Yellow #5).

Pretty good ingredients besides the silicones but I don’t think I mind at all. I find that they kind of help my hair stay soft so I’m not overly concerned about most of the drawbacks of silicones like product buildup since I wash or cowash my hair every other week. I also love that the number 2 ingredient is glycerine meaning even more moisture.

As soon as I was done reading, I got on my phone straight to the internet to do some digging and check out the reviews. I read some good reviews but I’ve never really been one to buy everything I read. I always feel like people are paid to put up such glowing recommendations because I don’t think anybody would pay you to say that their product is crap.

So after searching the internet for details I decided to get it and oh I was standing there for a long time that I’m quite sure that the salesperson that kept staring at me must have thought I was a crazy person or a shoplifter. It was hilarious so I just eventually moved on, bought the product and went home to try it out.

After washing my hair I used this to deep condition and first off I loved the citrusy/orangey smell plus the slip was amazing. My hair literally felt like butter – very soft and properly moisturized. Also I usually never have a problem with detangling but it seemed it could easily be great for detangling.

It is hard to believe that ORS made the pretty thing and I’m quite sure it’s something I’m gonna buy again. I bought the 370ml (12.25 fl oz) bottle for ₦1000 but I saw the same bottle in another store being sold at ₦900 and that’s a pretty fair price for all that yummy goodness. This is no doubt going to be a staple product for me and I definitely look forward to trying some other products. If you’ve tried this out already, I’ll love to know how it worked out for you so you could always leave a comment and let’s get into it.

Hope this was helpful, until the next one guys…
Kisses from Lagos.
